CAN-AM'S WIND RIDER CHALLENGE
An elimination competition by Bob Jeffreys & Suzanne Sheppard
Internationally acclaimed horse whisperers Bob Jeffreys & Suzanne Sheppard take the reins of this mind-blowing competition, which opens as a stampede of challengers across Ontario who audition with their horses. Only the best in show will saddle up to compete for the grand prizes and the finale, to be held in London, Ontario in March of 2010. In increasingly difficult elimination rounds, each team will attempt to master the skills they need to gallop into the winner's circle. The expert panel of judges will give feedback to each team and determine who stays in the competition and who rides the lonesome trail back home.

The judges will evaluate each team's performance by the following
criteria:

Wow factor: How daring was the routine?
Teamwork: Did the horse/rider team help or hinder each other?
Horsemanship: Did the riders work with or against their trusty
steeds?
Equitation: How good was the riding?
Attitude of the horses: Were the horses willing, even if they were
afraid?

The cross disciplinary course will consist of a pattern including, but not limited to some of the following elements: circles cantered on the correct lead with speed control (or circles in gait with speed control for gaited breeds), a 2 foot jump, trotting or gaiting while balancing an object in one hand, backing through and around barrels, sidepassing, ground poles, balanced halts, turn on the haunches or turnarounds, leg yielding, open/close a gate and a ring joust.
